Drive back to Langwathby along the A686 and take the turning for Salkeld to take a tour of the Water Mill and tea room. Continue along the road to stop at Long Meg and Her Daughters, the largest bronze age stone circle in Cumbria.

The organic Restaurant has won awards for imaginative home cooking, using fresh organic produce beautifully presented in pleasant surroundings overlooking Melmerby's 13 acre green. The Bakeshop has breads and cakes, many of which are suitable for special diets, fresh from the oven daily and a wide range of baking and cookbooks. The Gallery upstairs offers a constantly changing display of local art, crafts and photography.
