Arnside & Silverdale Day 2

Enjoy an immersive wildlife safari on Cumbria’s coast, taking in a designated area of outstanding Natural Beauty.

Catch the train to Silverdale Station and you can walk from there to the clearly signposted RSPB reserve Leighton Moss.
Leighton Moss is a great place to get out in nature, with the wealth of wildlife that inhabits this small corner of the coast you are sure to catch a glimpse of something exiting. Boasting the largest reed bed in the north-west, it is home to otters, marsh harriers, red deer and the ever-illusive Bittern.
Children can enjoy the many themed, pushchair-friendly trails and a visit to The Holt where you will find interactive display panels and activities for the children of all ages.

The Cafe at Leighton Moss is very welcoming and has a great range of cakes.

If you fail to catch a glimpse of the rarer inhabitants in the morning, it is still worth scaling the heights of the sky tower before you leave for expansive views.

Stay another night in Silverdale or head back to the train station and home. You could even do the short hop back to Arnside for another night
