Surrounding the town is the gently rolling farmland of the Furness Peninsula while the coastline provides beautiful vistas over Morecambe Bay.

Then enjoy a gentle cruise on Coniston Water with its surrounding spectacular fells, an inspiration for the likes of Ruskin, Ransome and Campbell.

Update to coach parking in Bowness
between 5th Aug & 4th Sept 2017

The following update relating to coach park in Bowness has been issues by Windermere Lake Cruises:

"Due to the high number of coaches we are currently welcoming to our coach park in Bowness, during busy periods and peak times we may need to limit the duration of coach parking to two hours only. Time restrictions may apply from Saturday 5th August until Monday 4th September.

Should you wish to stay in the area longer during these peak times, we have arranged alternative coach parking at the Lakeland Motor Museum Backbarrow, Near Newby Bridge, LA12 8TA for the duration of the time between dropping of your passengers and picking them up again. Complimentary Tea/Coffee will be available for drivers at Café Ambio at Lakeland Motor Museum.

This new procedure has been implemented to ensure that we can facilitate all groups and coaches at busy times, to avoid having to turn coach groups away and to ensure that we can accommodate all bookings.

We thank you for your cooperation in this matter"
