Boat & Train trips

No visit to the Lake District, Cumbria would be complete without a boat trip on one of the many beautiful and scenic lakes. Each lake has a personality and feel of it's own, but all have one thing in common - serene surroundings and amazing views. Hire your own boat or take one of the lake guided tours, its up to you.

Afterwards, why not take a trip to the beautiful Western Lakes, for a train ride through scenic Eskdale. This is the home of the narrow-guage steam railway affectionately known as 'Lal Ratty' - old Cumbrian dialect for 'Little Train'. Departing from Ravenglass, this 40 minute journey takes you seven miles through ancient woodlands and fells of the Eskdale valley to Dalegarth for Boot station, some 210ft above sea level and within sight of England's highest mountains, the Scafell Range.

However you choose to travel, let us help you book your boat and train trips easily and securely through Golakes, the official tourist board for the Lake District, Cumbria.
