Family with Older Children N B
Euxton, United Kingdom

Rated as 5 out of 5

“Excellent property and fabulous countryside”

The property was spotlessly clean, modern and extremely well equipped. There was tea, coffee and home made biscuits on arrival with the owners own chicken's eggs for breakfast. All items such as soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, loo roll, free wifi, were provided. All Fuel for the wood burner was also provided free of charge. There were even towels and bags for the dog. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and the cottage is located amongst fabulous countryside with beautiful scenery and walks right from the door. We have stayed in a large number of cottages and would rate this as one of the best

Details

Isaac's Byre is a lovingly restored barn conversion which sleeps 6 in comfort in 3 bedrooms with 3 bath/shower rooms.

Situated in a quiet hamlet overlooking the picturesque South Tyne valley: the cottage is a welcoming home from home with open plan living in a light and airy room. Built as a bastle house in 1600s, it was converted back into residential accommodation from a barn, in 2011, and is an ideal place for walking and cycling. For those who would rather experience the countryside from the comfort of a cottage it has French doors, which allow panoramic views, and open onto a patio giving great views of bird and wildlife plus the owners pet hens. Next door are; pet pig, sheep and ducks. Please see our reviews on revoo and Trip Advisor

Ground floor has a bedroom which has bed which can be a super king size or twin beds and a family bathroom with shower over the bath.. There are three shallow steps or a ramp to an open plan living room/kitchen with range cooker, Sky TV, ipod dock and DVD available. at the entrance to the cottage is a boot room for muddy walking boots and dogs and drying facilities. First floor has twin room with an adjoining shower and WC, a double room with ensuite shower with rain watershower head and WC.

Starter pack of kindling and firewood is provided plus Wi-Fi, telephone and linen are included in the price. Outside the back of the cottage there is a bike storage, barbecue, patio furniture and parking for 2-3 cars.

There are wonderful views over North Pennines to enjoy. Plenty of walks and cycling from the doorstep. Only 10-15 min walk to pub, post office and store, swimming pool and sauna.

This is an ideal location if you are travelling on C2C and Pennine Way. The cottage is also close enough to visit Hadrian's Wall, explore the North Pennines AONB and Geopark, Bowlees, Middleton in Teesdale, Barnard Castle and historic Blanchland .

Families are very welcome here. We have two cots (one a travel cot and the other a small standard cot (you will need to bring your babies bedding) and high chairs available, stair gate and room divider, fire guard and children's crockery and cutlery. We have a huge cupboard full of games and also provide reading material for adults and children. If we know the age of your children in advance we can provide age appropriate toys/games so you don't need to bring so much from home. We provide a stick blender in case you want to blend food for your baby. Children's activity sheets, story books and nightlights are also provided.

Two well behaved dogs are welcome. We provide lots of extras for your pets too; poop bags, towels, throws for furniture, water bowl by Portabowl, identity disks for your dogs collar with the cottage phone number and address, small snack for you dog on arrival too. We have a dedicated room for your dog at night which is also the boot room. If you require we can also provide crates for your dogs. You will need to bring your pet's food bowl, food and bed/bedding.

We look forward to hearing from you.
