Spring Flowers in Mixed Media

Spring Flowers in Mixed Media

Celebrating Lakeland Spring Flowers

Start the day gathering material to work with, making quick sketches and taking photos on the farm. If it is wet we will provide a collection of flowers, plants and grasses for still life arrangements and individual studies. You will explore shape, texture and colour and create depth and definition by combining and layering different media for a fresh and exciting effect. Work with ink, pencil, watercolour/acrylic wash and pastel and collage. Textile artist, Kate Reid, has lots of experience teaching and will guide you throughout the day with demonstrations, advice and expert tips.

This workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a traditional converted Lakeland barn. The art studio is a stunning open plan space with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley.

All our tutors are carefully selected professionals and experts with extensive teaching experience. George Grange has many years of experience running creative courses for both adults and young people at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal
