This holiday home was originally a threshing barn, the front door opens in to a small hallway with hooks for coats. Stairs lead from here to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom.
The ground floor bedroom has a standard single bed and a set of bunk beds, 900 mm (3ft) wide and 1760mm long; slightly shorter than standard and therefore ideal for children.
A downstairs shower room has a toilet, basin and shower enclosure.
There is an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area. The well-equipped kitchen includes an integrated fridge freezer, electric oven, hob and dishwasher. There is also a microwave oven and an automatic washing machine (a shared tumble dryer is situated in the North Stables building, across the yard). The area that once housed the barn door is now a double-height dining space flooded with natural light, there is a table and seating for seven. The living area has ample cosy seating, the furniture is arranged around a recessed electric flame/log effect fire. There is a wall mounted TV/DVD and a CD/radio/I pod dock and a selection of board games. Double doors lead out in to a self-contained patio with table and chairs.
Upstairs the aged timbers are an attractive feature. The glazed, galleried landing forms a study area overlooking the dining area below.
The spacious bathroom has a toilet, basin, large walk in shower enclosure and freestanding bath.
There is a bedroom with zip and link beds that can be arranged as 3ft twins or a super king. The master bedroom has a king size bed, there is room for a cot. All bedrooms have a TV, clock radio and hairdryer.
West Barn has its own lockable, indoor storage space in the North Stables building, across the yard. This secure, dry space is fitted with coat hooks, a shelf and boot rack and is ideal for storing bicycles, outdoor equipment, excess luggage and outdoor clothing/footwear.

Salutation Yard is a peaceful courtyard of 3 luxurious holiday cottages in the lovely Eden Valley village of Skelton, it is a 2 minute walk to an Inn serving home-made food and a 20 minute drive to the shore of Ullswater. The aptly named Eden Valley is a true delight. The broad valley shelters between the Lake District fells to the West and the Pennines to the East. The lush countryside, villages and small towns enjoy a quiet, often lacking in better known tourist destinations.

The 3 holiday cottages at Salutation Yard were converted from farm buildings, they retain much original character combined with modern day features, allowing you to glimpse the history of these interesting buildings while enjoying a relaxing holiday. You can gather round the table for food, drink and conversation. The well-equipped kitchen eases food preparation and cooking: each has a fridge-freezer, integrated electric oven/ hob and microwave oven, a dishwasher takes care of the washing up. The cosy living areas are perfect for watching TV, listening to music, playing board games or simply curling up by the fire with a book. The free Wi-Fi (45 MBS) enables you to keep in touch and plan your days out. On sunny days the patio area is ideal for eating al-fresco. The contemporary bathrooms are a joy to use; whether for a soak in the bath or a refreshing shower (fluffy white towels are supplied)! At the end of the day you can tuck under a duvet to rest in a comfortable bed made up with crisp white bed linen. Each cottage has its own, secure storage space for outdoor equipment. The automatic washing machine in your cottage and shared tumble dryer in North Stables make light work of any laundry.

By Road: From the M6 leave the motorway at jct 41 and travel West on the B5305 for 2.8 miles. Just after Hutton in the Forest turn left at the junction signposted Blencow and Greystoke. Travel along this lane for 1.7 miles to the crossroads, from here turn right (signposted Skelton). Drive 1.8 miles along this lane to Skelton village crossroads. Continue straight on, down the hill, 190 metres (O.1 mile) from the crossroads. Pass Greystone House on the right, a cream coloured house with porch and attached stone barn. The entrance to Salutation Yard is on the right immediately after the barn.

By Rail: Penrith railway station is 7.2 miles away, (on West Coast main line).
