Andrew Louise Jones

Great Langdale - Andrew Jones

Andrew Says "Cumbria is #myplacetobe as it has an incredible ability to stir your emotions. If you want to find peace, awe or exhilaration, Cumbria can provide them all in abundance.

The Langdale Pikes and the valleys below have a unique draw for me, their distinctive shape visible from so many vantage points. They never fail to make me smile when I see them, be they snow capped or lit by shafts of light breaking through the cloud, especially close up where their scale can be properly appreciated. Combining awe inspiring views and examples of the local farming heritage and communities, I feel they deserve to represent Cumbria and be portrayed on the front cover of the 2018 holiday guide."

Dave Brown

Friars Crag, Derwentwater - Dave Brown

Dave says "Cumbria has allowed myself and disabled wife time to recharge and get out and about in beautiful relaxing scenary, being mobility scooter bound means she is restricted to where she can get to see, this was one of our very first walks together and as such will always have a big place in our hearts."

Duncan Hawtin

Hope Park, Keswick - Duncan Hawtin

Duncan says "I come from Gods own County, Yorkshire. So we’re pretty much spoiled here with mother nature but if I could live else where it would be the Lakes."

Image 4

Nicky Barker

Wasdale - Nicky Barker

Nicky says "This image was taken on a walk around Wast Water in Wasdale. We love hiking, Cumbria is perfect, offering superb views and great hikes. I love this image because teens of this day and age spend far too much time inside with their technology. This is my son in the picture stood taking in the magnificent view of the great outdoors."

Nicky Beeson

Heron Crag, Ullswater - Nicky Beeson

Nicky says "As a keen fell walker the image embodies everything I value about the Lakes; enjoyment of the outdoors amidst breath-taking scenery. I feel the image could inspire people to climb the fells and enjoy the views from above the lakes rather than just staying around the lakeside."
