About us

England's World Heritage Story is a project run by Cumbria Tourism, a company limited by guarantee registered under number 3027358 with registered offices at Windermere Road, Staveley, Kendal LA8 9PL. We are registered under the General Data Protection Regulations as a data controller, under registration number Z5126632. Our data protection officer can be contacted at website@cumbriatourism.org .

Information that we collect from you and how we use it

When you use the England's World Heritage Story website you may submit information to us for the following reasons:

• Entering a competition
• Requesting information
• Contacting us using our contact page form or online chat


Entering a competition
We run competitions in association with our business partners who offer the competition prizes. The name of the competition partner(s) are always clearly stated on the entry page. With every competition we offer through the site, options are provided to allow you to choose whether your contact email may to be used by England's World Heritage Story/Cumbria Tourism/Golakes and the prize partner to contact you directly with news, special offers and marketing emails. You can choose whether you would like to share your contact email with those parties at the time of entering the competition.

Contacting us using our contact page form or online chat
When you contact us using our contact page or online chat, your name and email address are sent to the England's World Heritage Story team at Cumbria Tourism along with your request. We will use your details only to help you with your enquiry. We will never share or sell your contact details with any other third party.

Use of your information

We will hold your information securely and use it only in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018). We will use your information to provide you with the products and any information that you have requested. We may also use and analyse the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business and website offer.
