The Houghton Weavers

Details

In their time together, the group – comprising Tony Berry, Steve Millington, David Littler and Jim Berry – have performed thousands of concerts, recorded over 30 albums, and starred in several of their own highly successful BBC radio and TV series.

The Houghton Weavers guarantee a wonderful evening of entertainment which is suitable for all the family. Their experience – together with their style and professionalism – ensures that, as their motto says, they always `Keep Folk Smiling`.

The Houghton Weavers, the UK’s leading Comedy/Folk group, have been at the forefront of the country’s music scene for over four decades with a hectic concert schedule.

Featuring the collective talents of Tony Berry, Jim Berry, David Littler and Steve Millington they entertain their audiences with a mixture of songs and humour.

Since learning their craft in the folk clubs of their native North West, they have enjoyed non-stop success, with a great following at their concerts and a large fan club with members worldwide.

In their time together, The Houghton Weavers have performed thousands of concerts, recorded over 30 albums, starred in several of their own highly successful BBC radio and TV series, and made countless appearances on other programmes as both entertainers and interviewees. Their perennial favourite “The Blackpool Belle”, reached Number 3 in New Zealand.

They entertain their audiences with humorous jokes and antidotes and sing “popular” folk songs – from raucous traditional songs to sing-a-long favourites interspersed with some beautiful ballads – all performed in their own inimitable style.

A wide and varied repertoire ensures that no two evenings in The Houghton Weavers’ company are ever the same.

So come and join in the music and fun at The Beggar’s Theatre on Saturday 24th February 8pm and enjoy an evening with The Houghton Weavers and a smile!
