Honister Shop

Honister green slate was formed in this rugged corner of the Lake District more than 450 million years ago and has been mined here for many centuries.

Renowned for its olive green hue, quality and longevity, every item produced at Honister Slate Mine uses slate extracted from the iconic Fleetwith Pike and is crafted using ancient skills in a dedicated mountainside workshop. This authentic Lake District slate has even been used on the roof of Buckingham Palace!

Visitors to Honister can stroll around our shop and take home their own very special part of the Lake District. Everything from bookends and barometers to customised cufflinks and clocks are available both online and on site, plus a wide range of dining and kitchen products.

The nature of Honister green slate means all the items are one-offs, making a range of special gifts you can truly call unique.
