Meaning on a fine evening you can enjoy the full splendor of a Lake District sun set as it sinks below the fells.
Our Ghyllside camping area, allows you to reserve your pitch, with electrical hook-up (6amps). This area is across a minor lane from the main park. These pitches are allocated by size, therefore we need to know the size of your tent in metres (including any porch), when making a booking.
Please note gazebos, event shelters and similar structures are not permitted on Ghyllside.
Ghyllside camping area is more suitable for larger tents. Pitches here have a 6amp electric supply which is suitable for lighting, recharging devices and providing supplies to small appliances such as a travel kettle (750w). This is not suitable for providing a heating supply in a tent. If you prefer more comfort why not try one of our camping pods!
We’ve updated the numbering of our Ghyllside pitches and they now follow a more logical order. If you’ve stayed with us before do double check on our new map (see link below) that you’re booking your intended pitch.

The second area, Fellside, offers magnificent views down Lake Windermere towards the Langdale Pikes and across to Coniston Old Man from its undulating slopes. On Fellside you can choose your own area to camp, giving you the feeling of wild camping, with the added comfort of well maintained facilities. You may find a suitable space next to your friends, so you can enjoy a family camping trip together.

Wastwater is 3 miles long and half a mile wide. It's also the deepest lake in England, with a maximum depth of 260 feet.
