For a romantic wedding and luxury country house experience like no other, Heather Glen is the perfect exclusive use only wedding venue catering for parties, groups and weddings of all sizes.
Based in the village of Ainstable, close to the village of Armathwaite and mid way between Carlisle and Penrith, we offer the highest levels of comfort and exclusive use service for the weddings of our guests. Under the current ownership, we first opened our doors hosting private hire weddings in May 2007, and since then we have worked with couples and families in order to facilitate their perfect weddings in our lovely home.
Following extensive refurbishment and additions to the original house (seven en suite bedrooms with more planned for 2023/24) we can offer a number of private and bespoke weddings to select from, always including our country house as a venue for your wedding or civil partnership.

Set in 2 and half acres of country garden, Heather Glen was built in 1900 by a local stonemason for his family home. Our traditional country house it the perfect option when looking for private hire venues to use for your beautiful weddings.
We are fully equipped to serve as one of the most lovely exclusive hire venues for weddings and parties of all sizes (as well as opening our restaurant and bedrooms to guests Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when not hosting a private occasion).
Our West View Room is licensed for private civil ceremonies, accommodating for up to 110 guests, and then later our Eden View Room where your guests will be seated for your Wedding Breakfast. We understand that our guests dream of exclusive services and the ideal venues for their big day and with Heather Glen you can count on total privacy and the kind of luxury that comes with the hire and exclusive use of our
Eden Valley house.

By far the most important thing that underpins your weddings, celebrations and events here at Heather Glen is the fact that if you choose us, our entire country house together with its gardens, becomes yours for the duration of your stay. Quite unlike many other venues, when we talk about exclusive use, we actually mean it.
No country wedding venue could be complete without luxury accommodation for you and your party. We offer 7 unique en suite rooms for you, your family and friends to use.
Ther is a further option of a luxury two bedroom/en suite holiday apartment close by, and further accomodation in our village and neighbouring village of Armathwaite.

Heather Glen Country House is fully licensed for civil ceremonies, so whether you choose to get married at church or host your full day of celebrations with us, we have the perfect setting to say ‘I do’.

EDEN VIEW ROOM

Looking out over the gardens, our Eden View Room seats up to 110 guests
for a served wedding breakfast, but is equally welcoming for numbers of 30 and over.
A lovely balcony, positioned behind the top table, is perfect for capturing those special moments, of which there will be many during your stay with us.
You will find our second and largest bar in this light and spacious room, ensuring your guests do not have to wander far to find an extensive range of beverages.
We work closely with our brides and grooms making sure they have the perfect seating plan for their very special day, guests seated at oblong tables which can be a mix of sizes making planning as flexible as possible.
For your evening celebrations, be this with band or disco, this lovely room is totally transformed and becomes the perfect party venue with own permanent dance floor.

MIDWEEK INTIMATE WEDDINGS
We are pleased to offer Heather Glen as the perfect option for those choosing a more private day.On any day Monday to Wednesday, we host weddings for 25 guests or more.Again, this would include all the main elements for your perfect Wedding Day,
With exclusive use and our seven boutique bedrooms with breakfast the following day.Dates allowing, why not stay the night before and start your celebrations earlier.
CIVIL CEREMONY
Should you wish to say ‘I do’ at the Heather Glen, our beautiful bespoke West View Room, added in 2016, is contemporary in style with lime washed Chiavari chairs, and is licensed for civil and celebrant ceremonies.

NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SPECIAL DAY
As we do not as rule host weddings on two consecutive days, we are happy to discuss accommodation for you, your bridal party and friends the night before your wedding day
Our charges cover all the setup costs, crockery, cutlery, glasses, white table linen and napkins, seating plan easel, cake knife and silver cake stand, highchairs and booster seats.We also stock several styles of vases and other wedding decorative items should you wish to use them.

Following your Civil ceremony or upon arrival from church, you may choose to welcome your guests with a delicious mouthwatering selection of canapés, served on the terrace (weather allowing), or in one of our welcoming lounges.Canapés £5 per Guest
