Spring Into Action – Our 7 Favourite Things To Do In Keswick

At the very heart of the Lake District National Park World Heritage Site, Keswick has so much to offer whatever the time of year but especially in Spring. The days are getting longer and all around, nature is stirring from its Winter slumber.

Here are our 7 favourite things to do when you Visit Keswick.

1. Take In The View

Where ever you go in and around Keswick, you will be amazed by the views. Of course, some of the best views are from the fell tops but there are plenty of breath-taking views that don’t involve a steep climb. The views from Friars Crag and Castle Head are only a short walk from the town, or you can simply stand in Crow Park and look out over Derwentwater towards Catbells and the Borrowdale Valley.

2. Smell The Flowers

We are fortunate in Keswick to have some beautiful parks. Hope Park in particular is well worth a visit to see the Spring flowers. Take a stroll and enjoy the snowdrops, crocuses, cyclamen and daffodils.

3. Escape The April Showers

Whilst the weather is starting to improve at this time of year, there will still be the odd shower. It’s just as well then, that Keswick has plenty of interesting attractions to keep you out of the rain. There are museums, galleries, a brewery, a cinema and a theatre, to name but a few.

4. Take A Walk

One of our absolute favourite things to do is to take a walk. Whether it is a short walk around the shops, a long walk, a high level walk or a low level walk just take the time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Take some friends with you and enjoy a good old catch up on the way.
