1. Walking

Perhaps the most obvious activity in the county, Cumbria is known for its abundance of walking routes and mountain trails. Also known as ‘Fell Walking’ you can find short 30-minute strolls, 3-hour hikes or a full day trek across the glorious Cumbrian mountains. Home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, you can even take on the challenge of ascending every peak in Cumbria! The perfect way to detox the soul and body.

2. Water Sports

Another county favourite encompassing kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, sailing and swimming. There is plenty to do on the waters of Cumbria. Kayaking is a particular favourite of ours and is the perfect activity with a group of friends or as a solo adventure to take stock and reflect on the years past.

You can cycle a flat path around the shores of a lake or take a sturdy mountain bike through the trails of Whinlatter Forest. A sure way to keep fit with a super adrenaline rush and with some of the finest views in the country all waiting for you at the end of your trail.
