As a wedding destination, Cumbria is renowned as a magical and romantic place.

From a civil ceremony overlooking a lake, vow renewal with a sea view or a dramatic reception set against a mountain panorama, there are plenty of way to make the most our studding landscape and diverse wedding venues that can inspire you and your guests for life.

Whether you popped the question over the New Year or you’re hoping to make a romantic Valentine’s Day proposal, then it’s the perfect time of year to start planning your big day. What’s more 2020 is a Leap Year, so ladies can get down on one knee too.

Or perhaps you’re already planning the big day with that special someone… Whatever the case, the Lake District, Cumbria, is the place to make your bridal dreams come true.

Many couples who marry here also continue to return to the same venue year after year, to reminisce on their special day. We also have an epic stage for honeymoons, mini-moons, and hen and stag dos too.

However you plan to tie the knot, the Lake District Wedding Fair (Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 February 2020) will help you plan for an unforgettable day. Around eighty authentically local wedding venues, suppliers, attractions and activity providers from our iconic region will all gather under one roof, at The Exhibition Hall J36 Rural Auction Centre, near Kendal.

This year there will be a range of new additions, including a new ‘Natural Wedding Zone’ to help inspire couples wanting to find out more about going green on their big day. It’s all about helping people to make their wedding days more eco-friendly.

Street food vendors and live entertainment throughout the weekend will help bring the main exhibition hall to life, alongside a collection of special seminars with Wedding Planner Annabel Candler to help plan your special day. The full Lakeland experience will be on show, including what to do the day before or after the wedding.

The event will also include ‘The Look’ catwalk show, a daily show on the Mezzanine Floor above the main Exhibition Hall – the perfect way to check out the latest trends on bridalwear.

Admission to the Lake District Wedding Fair is free although all visitors should pre-register online to attend. Tickets are valid for either day, or you can use them on both days if you don’t cover all your bases on the first day.

Meanwhile, tickets to attend ‘The Look’ Fashion Show at midday on both Saturday and Sunday are available now. It’s £5 per person to attend, including a glass of wine or prosecco, along with a goody bag for the bride.

If you’re looking for the ultimate rural wedding destination, register now and be inspired!
