Museum Tours

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery

Tullie House offers a range of curatorial talks and tours that can be booked for a private experience around the Museum and Gallery. Be sure to book your visit in advance, so the experienced and knowledgeable staff can tailor the tour around your own interests. Then enjoy your escorted talk and be left with a brand-new experience and breadth of knowledge.

Tuesday Tales

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery
Join the resident story teller to hear traditional stories and folk talks, linked with the Museum’s collection. Lasting approximately 30 minutes, and designed especially for those under 5, the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for children to come and go during their visit. Takes place every other Tuesday.

Wander the exhibition

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery
Discover the must-see exhibition of paintings by influential American artist Alex Katz.

The exhibition will provide viewers with the opportunity to see the breadth of Katz practice, by featuring portraiture and landscape. With bright and bold palette, Katz paintings present a modern American take on the classical themes of portraiture, landscape and flowers.

The Community Gallery

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery
Visit The Community Gallery, a dedicated space for community groups, diverse artists and project partners to display their work. With a wide range of media and displays the area is a relaxed and dynamic gallery, exhibiting everything from Hadrian’s Pilgrimage textiles project to plants and trees photography competition.

Fantastic Fairground Factory

Want to be baffled, bemused and bewildered? Experience all the fun of the fair at The Fantastic Fairground Factory exhibition, allowing visitors to peek behind the scenes at the mechanical marvels, games and hands on activities of the funfair.

To complement the exhibition, a special range of crafts and themed activities are available during the Summer Holidays.

The Secret Garden

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery
Funded by The People’s Postcode Lottery, the walled secret garden has been transformed with a wealth of plants, trees, flowers and wildlife, and beautiful areas to explore. The Secret Garden will be used by the local community for gardening, art projects, play sessions, meetings and private events.

Social Crafting

Join in with an afternoon of social crafting, whilst taking a closer look at the unseen pieces of the Tullie Textiles collection.
A lovely opportunity to be inspired by beautiful and quirky items from the museums costume collection, while learning new textile techniques.
