Dogs Love Cumbria!

The Lake District, Cumbria is a great place to bring your dog on holiday. With so much space to run around, lakes and rivers to explore, your furry friend will have a great time.

Many accommodation providers are also part of the EnjoyEngland Welcome Pets! scheme, others welcome pets by arrangement.

As a holiday destination you will also find that in towns such as Keswick and Ambleside dogs are welcome in many shops and some pubs, whilst cafés often have tables outside.

Pet Etiquette

It is important to remember when out walking with your pet that you are often walking across private and farm land. It is an offence to allow your pet to bother any livestock. Always keep you dog on a lead around fields & livestock. As dog owners you have a responsibility to manage and control your pet in public.

Please bear in mind the following points if you are planning on bringing your pet on holiday with you...

Most of these points can be followed by simply keeping your pet on a lead. Even if you think your dog may behave around livestock and other people, it is better not to risk it.
