The Mountain Leader Award is aimed for people looking to lead groups of people hill walking within the UK, in summer conditions. It gives you formal training and a recognised NGB qualification to work with.
You will learn about navigation, group management, emergency procedures, security on steep ground and access and conservation. To go on an ML course you need to be over 18 years, be interested in leading groups of people in the hills and registered with the MLTE. For further information please look on the MLTE website www.mlte.org. For the assessment you need to have completed the training course, have a current First Aid and logged a minimum of 40 quality mountain days, look on the MLTE website for the definition.
Prices
Mountain leader training, £450, residential, £320 non-residential.
Moutnain leader assessment £480, residential, £350 non-residential.

Activities are priced at a set cost for 1 - 4 people or per person for 5+ in a group. These are private sessions for your group. All specialist equipment is provided and an experienced instructor will meet you at the activity site to save your fuel and time. Offers may be available for term time midweek and for booking 2 activities in a day. Please contact the office for details.
We run open sessions in school holidays which are priced per person and suitable for 8+ years (8 - 12 year olds accompanied by an adult). Please see our website or give us a ring for details of open session activities and dates.
