Gorge or Ghyll scrambling - A great way to experience the Lakeland scenery, scrambling up a spectacular mountain beck, traverse deep pools, climb small waterfalls, swim and jump in when you feel like it - it is a wet activity! Water levels obviously affect this activity and the fun is adjusted accordingly. Session approx 2hrs. Wetsuits can be hired.

Aquaseiling - upping the adventure a notch - why not try waterfall abseiling - exciting. Wetsuit provided,

Canyoning - full on adventure. Full day or half day options (half day only for those confident with abseiling and the equipment used). Abseil and jump down the waterfalls and cascades into deep pools in narrow gorges. Wetsuit provided.

Opening details

Booking office hours 09.30 - 16.30, excluding bank hols, closed 20 Dec - 05 Jan. Activity available 7 days a week. Latest start depends on duration of activity and time of year.

The facilities available at the venue or site of the activity vary. All activities need to be pre-booked to ensure there is a suitably qualified instructor for you so full instructions including directions to a meeting point, what to expect from the activity and the venue and what to wear, are sent to you in advance. Some venues have free parking and toilets others you will need to use pay and display car parks, some have free parking for National Trust members, others are local authority. Some venues have toilets others the arrangements are 'rural'. Most locations for adventure activities have very limited disabled access/facilities due to the nature of the activities. We will be very happy to advise on what is possible and/or advisable for anyone with special needs, but it will usually require a conversation between the instructor and the client before booking/arrival to ensure we can do our best to deliver something to meets expectations.

We use a number of venues around the Lake District to allow for the nature of different activities. (NB no activities take place at the admin office address). The locations for climbing, caving, canoeing, ghyll scrambling and mountaineering are dictated by the needs of the activity. Other activities like shooting, quad biking and bushcraft need specialist areas away from public areas/footpaths.
