Paul Lewis - Haydn’s piano sonatas

Paul Lewis - Haydn’s piano sonatas

Details

We are delighted to announce the return to Rosehill of Paul Lewis on 21 March, performing the second of four concerts over two years featuring Haydn’s piano sonatas.

Programme 21 March:

Haydn Sonatas in E flat and B minor

Beethoven Eleven Bagatelles (opus 119)

Brahms Four Pieces (opus 119)

A great opportunity to see one of the leading musicians of his generation, Paul Lewis, who last performed with us in October 2017 and prior to that at St Bees’ Priory in May 2013, is internationally regarded. His cycles of core piano works by Beethoven and Schubert have received unanimous critical and public acclaim worldwide, and consolidated his reputation as one of the world’s foremost interpreters of the central European classical repertoire.

He has won countless awards including the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Instrumentalist of the Year, two Edison awards and three Gramophone awards to name a few.
