This is our only first floor room and has a number of features including some interesting beams and a Barn Owl hole which has now been glazed. This room is carpeted using Herdwick wool carpet and has 2 stylish radiators.
The bathroom is reached through a glass pocket-door and has a large basin, walk in shower and wall hung toilet from Porcelanosa. Complimentary toiletries are provided from The Bath House in Sedburgh along with large Egyptian Cotton towels and heated floor.
The luxurious superking 6ft bed is positioned so that you can look out over the fields to the sea from the comfort of your cosy bed. Crisp white linen and a snuggly warm duvet complete the pleasure.
There is a walk in wardrobe, desk with lamp, plenty of socket, hairdryer and a 4K smart TV. Iron and ironing board are available on request.
The seating area with its 'peephole' is the perfect place to relax and drink from the beverages tray or Nespresso machine with fresh milk and home made biscuits or help yourself to something stronger fro the Honesty Bar in the dining room.
Herdwick's private patio is accessed from the lounge.
Herdwick is above Collie and they can be booked together for a group of 4, for example a family with 2 children.
We do not allow dogs in this room.

1692 Wasdale is a small boutique B&B situated in an elevated position at the entrance to the Wasdale Valley with superb views and easy access to all the western peaks including Scafell Pike and Great Gable. The Western Lake District is the quieter side, here you will find mountains, lakes , valleys, a fantastic coastline with miles and miles of sand and some great sunsets. In this exposed and rather rugged part of the National Park, now a World Heritage site, each season brings its own delights.

Relax and unwind in a unique blend of old buildings, stylish design and modern comforts. There is a large lounge with a contemporary open fire and piano, a dining room and outside courtyard, a boot-room with drying facilities, reception and 5 luxurious en-suite bedrooms. High beamed ceilings and exposed stonework complemented by under-floor heated timber and flagstone floors plus a tranquil location make this a very unique 'place to stay'.

There are 5 modern, luxurious and well appointed super-king en-suite bedrooms. Each is unique in layout and decor with luxury hand made beds, crisp white bed linen, feather light duvets and Herdwick Sheepskin Rugs. All out bedrooms have a 4K smart TV, free Wi-Fi, tea and Nespresso coffee making facilities, a seating area and a west facing patio with views to the sea.

Our contemporary en-suite bathrooms all have walk in showers, large soft Egyptian cotton towels, complementary toiletries from The Bath House and a heated floor. Additionally, two of our rooms have a mezzanine level bathroom incorporating a freestanding bath.

Delicious breakfasts are served in the dining room but can also be enjoyed outside on sunny mornings or delivered to your room for extra indulgence. Help yourself from the buffet including home made yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals and fresh bread whilst your cooked breakfast is prepared using locally sourced bacon, sausage and our own free-range eggs wherever possible. The menu includes a variety of options including vegetarian and other dietary requirements can be available if you let us know in advance.

Owners Faith and Steve are always on hand for a chat or to advice on walks and activities to help you get the most out of your stay.

We welcome dogs in 3 of our rooms. There is ample free parking onsite, bike wash and storage facilities and an electric car charging point.

1962 Wasdale is licensed and has a well stocked Honesty Bar including some local favourites.

Romantic breaks and exclusive-use fully catered breaks are a speciality. Evening suppers can be provided. We are happy to discuss an of your dietary requirements.

Leave the A595 following signs to Gosforth.
At the mini roundabout take the exit which leads you into the village and past the shop on your right.
Drive through the village and bear left at the Methodist Chapel following signs for Wasdale.
You will pass between the Church on your left and the school on your right. Keep going.
The road turns to the right over a bridge and then up a steep hill.
At the top of the hill, your SatNav will say you have arrived at your destination but do not turn into Sowermyr.
Continue another 100 meters and you will see our signs. Turn right into our drive and the car park is at the end of the drive.

By public transport: There are no buses past the property. The easiest way to reach us is by train. This will bring you to Seascale which is 5 miles from 1692 Wasdale. Taxi's are available through Gosforth Taxis on 019467 25308
