Ullswater Steamers

Ullswater Steamers

Reviews

    Details

Ullswater Steamers operate lake cruises in UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Lake District National Park. Easily accessible from all major transport routes, just ten minutes from the M.6 in the North and 40 minutes from the South (Windermere).

Ullswater is often compared to the likes of Lake Lucerne, its beauty the inspiration for famous poets and artists over the centuries such as Wordsworth and Turner. The lake runs a serpentine course for eight miles through expansive vistas of Lakeland’s highest mountains. Helvellyn at 950m crowns Ullswater, at the South-Western end of the valley, standing on a mighty plateau approximately 14.5km in length and 7km wide.

The Steamers have been operating cruises here since 1859, the oldest vessel Lady of the Lake was built in 1877. This is a visitor experience you won’t forget. There are four main piers stops, each linking famous and iconic walking routes or pay a visit to nearby National Trust waterfalls at Aira Force, English traditional tearooms in Pooley Bridge or enjoy Michelin star dining with a 360 view over the lake.
