Spinner Ring Workshop between Kendal & Windermere

Spinner Ring Workshop between Kendal & Windermere

Treat yourself to a fun day out and create a unique piece of silver jewellery.

Details

Create your own individual silver spinner ring. Intriguing to make, a silver spinner ring is both fashionable and mystical and the spinning motion is believed to have a calming effect on the wearer. You will make two different rings that fit together so that the smaller ring can spin, when moved, around the larger one. Enjoy the excitement of working with silver and learn a variety of jewellery making techniques.

Both beginners and those with more experience are welcome.

How to book and what to bring - check out our website.

The workshop fee is £70 and includes a tasty 2 course lunch with home baked bread and cake and refreshments throughout the day. We like to finish the day with a cup of tea and slice of cake. Eat outside or enjoy lunch by the wood burner. There is an additional material fee of £15 for silver.

Amanda Hunter is a jeweller and educator who loves to teach people how to make jewellery. She has been running her own jewellery business, Passion Flower Studio, for 9 years and specialises in making individual pieces in silver and gold. A key feature of her work is surface texture created using natural and found objects.

The workshop will be at Cowshed Creative, based in a converted Cumbrian barn on our traditional Lakeland Farm. The art studio is a stunning open plan space with plenty of room to wander outside and take inspiration from the amazing Lakeland landscape and environment of the peaceful Kentmere valley. Make it a special break and stay in one of our luxury camping pods on the farm.

All our tutors are carefully selected professionals and experts with extensive teaching experience. Whilst this is a new venture, George, who has set up Cowshed Creative, has many years of experience programming and running creative courses at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and for Cumbria Adult Education.

From the A591 turn into Staveley and follow the road until you reach the village hall. Turn following the sign to Kentmere for 1 mile. The road turns right over a bridge. Ignore this and go straight on up Browfoot Lane, keeping left of the river, for about 2 miles. Goose Howe is the property before us. Four fields further, on the right, there's a sign on the right hand wall for Browfoot Farm. Turn in here. Down the drive; The Cowshed is ahead on the left, with the sign on the wall. For the car park take a right at the two red doors, past farm buildings and left just beyond the grey corrugated tin barn.

Lifts can be arranged from Staveley Train Station.
