Naddle Forest is home to an abundance of wildlife, much of which roams the gnarly woodland after sunset.

As you search for tawny owls, roe and red deer, badgers, foxes and more, your knowledgable RSPB Guide will share insights into the the sights and sounds of the woodland, including fresh tracks and nocturnal calls. Perhaps you will discover the fresh track of a roaming badger, or hear the echoing bark of a roe deer…

Of course, you will search for the most curious creatures of the night, bats! Using specialist bat detectors you will hear the incredible clicks, slaps and drips of 'bat chat', discovering how each species creates different sounds when hunting.

Haweswater supports a diversity of different bat species, and your RSPB Guide will be on hand to enthusiastically share their knowledge on these truly unique mammals.

Returning to Naddle Farm, you can enjoy hot chocolate and biscuits whilst eavesdropping on bats foraging above, and will have the opportunity to find out more about the wildlife and work of RSPB Haweswater.
