Howgills in Autumn

Howgills in Autumn

Details

Why not take some time out and enjoy the changing landscape with its palette of rusts, oranges and violet heathers this Autumn?

Snuggled between the much-loved Lake District and the charming Yorkshire Dales of Sedbergh lies the hidden beauty of the Howgills Fells. Sedbergh is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and offers open, unhindered fell walks with high peaks and sweeping panoramas. Our Guided Walking Breaks are perfect for those who want to complete full-day walks with picnic and pub breaks. The routes have been carefully planned by our local experts and are led by experienced leaders who want to show you some of the area’s best routes. Our walks are an incredibly social event and on one of the evenings you will enjoy a lovely night of dining at one of Sedbergh’s local restaurants. Enjoy a sociable experience and telling ‘stories of the day’ as you stay in shared ‘chalet style’ accommodation at Howgills Apartments in the heart of the town.

Included in a 2 day break (either midweek or weekend):

- 2 nights accommodation at Howgills Apartments

- Continental breakfast

- 2 days of guided walking with 'Into the Outside' (one of the walks includes a picnic)

- An evening meal at a restaurant in Sedbergh

Walks run by Into the Outside Guides:

Saturday: Howgills Hike

(full day fell walk with picnic - approx 14km with option to make it 9km with a car shuttle)

From Sedbergh journey up and along the spine of the Howgills taking in the peaks of Winder, and the Calf. Descend next to the impressive Cautley Spout, England's highest waterfall. Either finish here at the Cross Keys temperance inn or return to Sedbergh along the River Rawthey where a warm shower awaits back at the apartments is followed by a hearty dinner at a local restaurant.

Sunday: Discover Dentdale

(lower level full day walk with pub lunch - approx 15km) From Sedbergh stroll over the Frostrow fells, with the option to summit a small peak. Pub lunch in Dent and return along the valley bottom alongside the River Dee to Sedbergh.

We look forward to hearing from you!
