Lowther Castle

Lowther Castle

Just when you thought it was safe to go about your October half-term business in peace and quiet – and then out of the gloaming come attack-ghosts in the form of characters such as The Headless Gardener, The Axeman and The Knocker. The Ghosts of Lowther – the hottest, ghostliest, spookiest, most defibrillating ticket in the whole of the Cumbrian Hallowe’en spook-calendar – are back, this time with twigs, thorns, sound effects and unlimited spectralness. Over 20 ghosts in the garden, brought to Lowther by Highly Suspect who were behind last year’s triumphant Lowther spooktacular.
And remember, the later the slot you pick, the less likely you are to make it home.
Please note: gates to the courtyard open at 5.00pm. Ghosts walks start at 5.30pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm
All tickets must be prebooked but visitors are welcome to arrive at any point.

Pre and post Ghost walk fun in the courtyard include facepainting, make a Halloween lantern, meet the owls, Halloween disco, street entertainers and drummers plus a weird and wonderful science of bone pop up, all included in the ticket price. There will be a choice of street food and the Lowther café and into the woods café are also open all night.
Younger visitors are better to book earlier tickets.
