Details

Following a decade of restoration the 14th Century Pele Tower at Killington Hall is now ready to welcome guests to stay in 21st Century comfort, surrounded by the history of this very special place.

History

The Pele Tower has a story to tell, placing this property at the heart of English history with Sir James Pickering, 3rd speaker of the House of Commons in 1378, living here. The Pickering family held Killington for over 300 years, often producing sons who held high office in the land.

Restoration

The property brings the original stone fireplaces, mullion windows and stone corbels together with sympathetic contemporary styling.

Wildlife

Relax on the balcony with a glass of fizz and watch the wildlife in and around the stream below or watch from the glazed oak panels in Springs Ghyll bedroom.

Accommodation

There is a a wood burning stove in the original fireplace in the light and airy open plan ground floor. The framed shutters to the mullion windows are dressed with a gorgeous large print fabric and with comfortable G-Plan vintage sofas you cannot help but relax in the company of family and friends. Take advantage of the Hyper-fast broadband to catch up with work or your favourite box set. The contemporary, well equipped kitchen sits beautifully next to the glazed oak panels to the rear. Underfloor heating throughout the property gives a warm welcome whether you are entering the property for the first time or you are just back in from a day out and about. The landing on the first floor is lit by 2 roof lights creating a great area to sit and read. Each bedroom is en-suite, with a shower in Springs Ghyll. This room is set as a twin bedroom with the ability to be changed to a super king. Sumptuous blue/green velvet cushions and bed scarves adorn the beds. All Saints master bedroom is spacious and light with original mullions dressed with sumptuous purple/orange velvet. A freestanding bath is the focal point of this room providing the height of luxury.

Location

The property sits within the beautiful Lune Valley, in the Yorkshire Dales National park and is a matter of minutes away from the Lake District. The West Coast main line train stops at Oxenholme which is 20 minutes by car and J37 of the M6 is a mere 3 miles from the property, making this a convenient break for anyone travelling to Scotland or heading South.
