The Grandest Views

Details

In 1875 visitors to Keswick were enthralled by a 15ft square relief model of the Lake District. This exhibition shows the last remaining hand painted piece of that model, along with some of the plaster moulds used to create it. The Ordnance Survey is providing a life size floor map of the Lake District to put the model into context. And to bring the story up to date there is a thrilling ride over the Lakes using modern digital modelling techniques.
