Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata - What's that? Well it's similar to Go Ape but set in a ‘real environment’ There are a choice of 2 venues. One indoor and the other outdoor so can be done in any weather. Via Ferrata (sounds like a dessert!) has large steel cables placed into the rock and a series of steps and ladders lead you to the top of the mountain, it’s wicked! You have a harness, safety clips and a helmet and you move safely from one section to the next. Give it a go; everybody who tries it has gone away enjoying the experience.

A little history about Via Ferrata:

Via Ferrata was used during the World War for moving troops and artillery around the mountains, so they could gain the height advantage on the invading troops, and enabled faster access across the mountainous terrain. Now mostly in Europe these old wired walkways have been given new life and now offer a fantastic (it really is) journey through the mountains whilst been extremely safe, because you’re clipped on to large cables that are attached to the mountain.

All our activities are run by passionate experienced and fully qualified and certified instructors. We are a small organisation based in the south Lakes area and have many years experience working with a huge range of clients and ability levels. The AMI (Association of Mountaineering Instructors) logo represents quality and assurance in the outdoor field, and you know that you’re getting the ‘best of the best’ instructors when you book with us.
