Details

Once again over four days in November, Kendal will host the main annual UK social gathering for those who love and enjoy the outdoors with a packed programme of films, talks and music.

Join us to discover who will win the International Film Competition or the Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature, come along to the hear directly from world-class filmmakers, athletes and adventurers or test yourself on the 10k trail run which climbs out from the town centre and up to Scout Scar. We will be hosting our ever-popular Specialist Sessions covering everything from paddlesports to free-flight via caving and outdoor swimming, as well as the sell-out Bike Night and our new, bigger Snowsports Night which will herald the start of the winter season for all snowsports enthusiasts in the UK.

Our Arts & Literature programme is even bigger this year with book launches and dedicated events for children, or bring your young tribe along to the Family Adventure Film Screenings for free. Still have an appetite for more? As always, we will have live music each evening, and throughout the weekend there will be a full programme of free Basecamp talks and demos from the world’s leading brands. Last year we welcomed over 16,000 visitors to Kendal who ‘Shared in the Adventure'.

Kendal Mountain Festival’s vision is to inspire more people to explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures.

“Kendal is THE tribal gathering for adventure enthusiasts.”
Sir Chris Bonington
