Join us as we announce the winner of the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature 2018.

The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature is THE premier mountain literature award worldwide and commemorates the lives of Pete Boardman and Joe Tasker who were lost on the North East Ridge of Everest in 1982. It is awarded to the author of an original work, which has made an outstanding contribution to mountain literature.

The Chair of Judges, Peter Gillman along with Kate Moorehead and Roger Hubank have the difficult task of selecting the winner from the seven shortlisted books had a tough job selecting the shortlist from over 35 entries. So who will be the 36th winner of the coveted Boardman Tasker Prize?

Join us in the Malt Room from 1pm for an inspiring afternoon of literature, hosted by mountaineer and author Stephen Venables, with interviews and readings from the authors, including Nick Bullock, Ed Douglas, Doug Scott and, of course, the nail-biting wait for the winner to be announced.

The shortlisted authors are:
