Mosaics 'Two Hearts' Quirky Workshop at Greystoke

Mosaics 'Two Hearts' Quirky Workshop at Greystoke

Mosaics 'Two Hearts' Quirky Workshop at Greystoke

An exciting new workshop for 2019 with the hugely talented Julie Gibson. Julie will run through the process of creating a mosaic and familiarise you with the various tools and processes to be used over the day. After planning out and preparing the base, she will go through the many lovely pieces of ceramics and glass pieces available to you, including various glass and ceramic pieces. Julie will also bring along some interesting finds like pebbles or beads etc and some pieces of work to view to help with inspiration. People will be shown how to cut glass and how to design a pleasing balanced Mosaic and help will be given with colour choice etc. Some people may want to do an abstract design, others can make a stylistic flower design. You can decide on the day and under Julie's guidance you will create your pieces, carefully assembled by hand. By the end of the day you will be able to mount your unique mosaic 6x6" heart in a picture frame of 8x8", ready to hang on the wall. Such a piece would normally sell for about £80.

Whilst your first mosaics piece is setting, you can use various smaller pieces to create a beautiful heart pendant on a silver base in the colours of your choice. Then each Mosaic will be grouted, cleaned and polished to finish, before the larger is mounted in the frame. Each person goes home with a finished piece of art ready to hang and their own piece of jewellery.

If hearts are not your thing, Julie will have other shapes available, please ask upon booking and check out her Etsy page to see available shapes.
