Calligraphy inc modern style 'Quirky Workshop' 2

Calligraphy inc modern style 'Quirky Workshop' 2

Quirky Workshops at Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns

Details

A two day course including the currently extremely popular 'Modern' calligraphy script, which is written with a pointed pen, and is a hybrid between Copperplate and italic handwriting. It is particularly useful - and indeed quite beautiful - for invitations, place cards, greetings cards etc. as well as other special uses. This course is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience who wish to work on further projects or learn a new script.

Your own dip pen, a nib & ink reservoir is included in the course fee for you to take home at the end of the course, along with your practice sheets, tags and all you have produced. Non-beginners will be offered a free exhibition catalogue instead of pen, nib and ink which shows a considerable range of scripts and calligraphy resources.

Gaynor Goffe is one of the UK's foremost calligraphers and teachers in the country and she has produced 2 calligraphy books and her work is featured in many other books. She can offer a choice from most scripts during this course as much of the tuition is on a one-to one basis. Scripts include uncial, italic and variations, foundational hand, Carolingian, Versals, Roman capitals, italic capitals, flourishes, Gothic, Copperplate as well as the currently very popular 'modern' pointed pen calligraphy. For beginners Gaynor will bring pens and ink, and paper will be provided for use during the workshop. If you are not a beginner and already have calligraphy tools & materials please bring them. You will be sent a 'kit list' in the weeks before the course. We will have drawings boards available to use here, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Also included during the day is a lovely 2 course Aga lunch & all refreshments and a cream tea.
