Jean Sturgis: A restrospective

Details

An exhibition of the work of the Cumbrian artist Jean Sturgis (1931-2016) who was born in Kendal, spent a considerable part of her life in Italy, and returned to live in Kentmere. The exhibition will include paintings, drawings and etchings and brings together work from across the span of her career, revealing an artist of great sensitivity with a distinct and expressive vision. The exhibition is being curated by her son, the artist Daniel Sturgis, and Julian Cooper, Britain’s foremost living mountain painter, at the archive gallery at the Heaton Cooper Studio, the Lake District Centre for the Interpretation of the Landscape
