Grasmere Gingerbread

Grasmere Gingerbread

If you are anywhere near the gorgeous village of Grasmere, a visit to Grasmere Gingerbread® is essential. This fascinating little shop has an incredible history.

It was built in 1630 as the village school and is where Romantic poet Wordsworth occasionally taught. In 1854 it became the home of Sarah Nelson's world-famous original celebrated Grasmere Gingerbread®. And all these years later her unique and delicious treat is still freshly-baked daily to her same secret recipe, passed down through generations.

This historic little shop is the only place in the world where you can buy Grasmere Gingerbread®, so make sure you stock up when you visit Grasmere.
