Shakespeare in the Garden

Fans of al fresco theatre can rejoice, as Leighton Hall in Carnforth is all set to host its annual Shakespeare in the Garden event - The Winters Tale

Performed by an all male cast with original live music, the producers promise a performance everyone can enjoy. The Winters tale is one of Shakespeare’s much-loved plays.

The Festival Players Theatre Company have been bringing Shakespeare to the grounds of Leighton Hall for over 20 years, and this performance on Friday 20th July is their only date in Lancashire during their 2018 national tour.

Suzie Reynolds, owner of Leighton Hall, says, “We welcome guests of all ages to join us for what promises to be an exciting and vibrant take on this classic Shakespeare tale. Each year more and more visitors enjoy this event, as Leighton provides the ideal venue for an evening of English theatre at its finest”.

Gates open at 6pm, and guests are invited to bring a picnic, and even a bottle of fizz, ready for the play to start at 7:30. Rain or shine, the great British weather only adds to the atmosphere, so guests are encouraged to bring warm clothing and something to sit on, in order to stay comfortable throughout the evening.
