The Spinners Arms

The Spinners Arms

The Spinners Arms in Cummersdale is a family owned and run pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It’s a traditional pub with a warm welcome. You will find The Spinners in the village of Cummersdale, on the outskirts of Carlisle, Cumbria. The Spinners Arms is a family and dog friendly community local.

The Spinners Arms is a fine example of a Carlisle State Management Scheme pub, designed by Harry Redfern and built in 1930. It's a Grade II listed building with many original features, including open fires, tiled fireplaces, wood panelling and unusual decorative guttering.

The pub has been listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide every year since 2008 and has been awarded Solway CAMRA Pub of the Season three times. It has been a runner up twice for Solway CAMRA Pub of the Year.

Since 2013 the pub has been making its own range of real ales as the Carlisle Brewing Co. Its flagship beer, Spun Gold, was recently made Solway CAMRA Beer of the Year. Owners, Alain & Alison Davis, are proud to be continuing Carlisle’s rich brewing heritage and pleased to have brought brewing back to Carlisle after a 25 year absence.
