Situated at the heart of Ambleside, we are much more than just a tourist information centre. In 2007 Ambleside tourist information centre merged with the Post Office to provide visitors and locals with two vital services.



Come and visit us in the Tourist Information Centre for postcards, Ordnance Survey Maps, walking and cycling leaflets and books, local interest books, accommodation brochures for UK destinations, plus ideas for trips to local attractions.



Situated a minutes walk away from Windermere train station and only a mile and half away from the lake shores of Windermere.



Our service is provided by a dedicated group of volunteers who are here to assist with friendly informed help and advice for residents and visitors alike.

Ullswater Tourist Information Centre is situated in the main car park, Beckside, in Glenridding close to the shores of Ullswater. The refurbished centre now benefits from multi-media displays.



In the centre of Keswick and with a recently refurbished community room, the Moot Hall is the perfect choice for coffee mornings, training venue, slide shows, business meetings, charity and fundraising events and exhibitions.


Kirkby Stephen

The ancient market town of Kirkby Stephen in the Upper Eden Valley enjoys an enviable position between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks.



Gateway Tourist Information Centre providing an extensive range of information and services to people visiting Penrith, The Eden Valley and the surrounding region.



The tourist information centre shares space with 2 bookshops, Bluebell, new bestsellers and gifts and Dales and Lakes, second-hand collectors books.



To help find and give out information on various aspects to visitors as well as locals. Booking accommodation locally and other areas. Selling maps and looks on the Lake District.



We offer a free local accommodation booking service to personal callers and operate the nationwide book-a-bed-ahead.



Alston Local Links situated in Alston Town Hall provides library, tourist information and access to Council services. In 2009 the staff won 'Tourism team of the year' at the Cumbria Tourism Awards.
