“A very comfortable and enjoyable holiday home. ”

I have given an excellent report of the cottage, however I think you should make it clear there is parking for only ONE car - we had two cars and had to find parking in the town which was time-consuming and difficult. The neighbours were very helpful and friendly, with useful advice in time of need. We ended up walking to the main attractions as much as possible (ferry, and into the town's attractions). Ambleside is a beautiful place with much to recommend it but the parking proved a huge problem (I hasten to add this also applies to other Lake District towns, Grasmere being one we had to miss because we couldn't find parking).

Quietly situated at the entrance to a short residential cul-de-sac Ghyll End has recently been renovated and refurbished. The location is perfect for a holiday at any time, just a short walk down the hill into the centre of Ambleside with all the village amenities easily to hand. The cottage is close to the woodland paths at Stockghyll and the famous waterfalls are just a few minutes walk away. The Wansfell footpath starts just up the road and there are many other walks to be enjoyed 'from the door'. Ambleside boasts a selection of good eating places, a first class cinema and plenty of outdoor activities including year round cruises on beautiful Lake Windermere amidst some of the area's most wonderful scenery.

Accommodation: Covered porch entrance into hallway where you can hang your outdoor gear and downstairs wc & basin. Good sized sitting/dining room (flat screen TV with Freesat, DVD player and free wi-fi )with several windows and outlooks toward Stockghyll woods. The fitted kitchen is well equipped and has a back door to the garden. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms: a master with king-sized bed, a twin and a single with 3ft cabin bed. Family bathroom with P-shaped bath/shower over, basin and wc.

The property has a light and welcoming feel and will be comfortable in any season.

Outside: Rear garden with patio and garden furniture. Parking for one medium sized car in the garage and a further car possible immediately in front of the garage door. Bike storage available in garage. Ambleside centre and all village amenities (shops, pubs, cafes, Post office and public transport) 5 to 10 mins walk downhill.
