Details

Tutors: Linda Birch & Rev Canon Trevor Pitt.
Traditionally, in England, Michaelmas marked the beginning of autumn and the turning of the year, bringing the changes in colour and weather which all artists appreciate. This week will provide opportunities to reflect on how painters and poets, ancient and modern, have understood and celebrated the moods and perceptions of autumn.
Linda Birch has worked as an illustrator working on over 200 books. As a painter, she has exhibited at The Royal Watercolour Society and held many solo shows of her work. Her work is in many public and university collections. She is the author of several books on painting and writes and reviews regularly for an international painting magazine. Trevor, as well as being Linda’s husband, is a retired clergyman, having served in Sheffield, Canterbury and Durham Dioceses, with an interest in practical ecumenism and theological education.
