LDSM - Eblana String Trio 2

LDSM - Eblana String Trio 2

JS Bach/Mozart Adagio and Fugue in G minor, K404a No.2 7½’
JS Bach/Mozart Largo and Fugue in E flat major, K404a No.5 8½’
Beethoven String Trio in C minor, Op.9 No.3 23½’
Brahms Piano Quartet No.1 in G minor, Op.25* 39¼’

More of Mozart‘s six Bach transcriptions prepare us for the last of Beethoven‘s Op.9 trios, with which he fulfilled his conception of the string trio as a class of work equal in standing to the string quartet. The wild Gypsy rondo with which Brahms‘s Quartet closes will doubtless bring the house down and form a fitting conclusion to Patrick Hemmerlé and the Eblana String Trio‘s mini-residency this week.
