“Absolutely wonderful!”
We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from Judith-Ann and Rob. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and very well equipped. Everything we could possibly need has been thought of and provided, including everything the dog needed too!
We were so pleased that so much effort has been put in to keeping the cottage as environmentally friendly as possible.
The cottage is in a beautiful and peaceful location, and we all felt refreshed and relaxed after our stay.

Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are both very pleased that you all enjoyed your stay. We would love to welcome you back again in the future.
Details
Isaac's Byre holiday cottage is a lovingly restored barn conversion situated in a small hamlet overlooking the picturesque South Tyne valley: the cottage is a welcoming home from home with open plan living in a light and airy room.
The cottage was converted back into residential accommodation from a barn, in 2011, and is an ideal place for walking and cycling.
For those who would rather experience the countryside from the comfort of a cottage it has French doors, which allow panoramic views, and open onto a patio giving great views of birds and wildlife plus the owners pet hens. Next door are; pet hens, sheep and ducks.
The ground floor bedroom can be used with a super king size bed or twin beds. There is a family bathroom with shower over the bath on the ground floor too.
There are three shallow steps or a ramp to an open plan living room/kitchen with range cooker
Near the entrance to the cottage is a boot/mud room for muddy walking boots with drying facilities.
First floor has twin room which can also be a superking and a double room with ensuite shower and WC. There is an additional shower room on the first floor.
A starter pack of kindling and firewood is provided plus Wi-Fi, telephone, linen and towels. We also make sure you have enough cleaning products and loo rolls for your stay.
Outside the back of the cottage there is bike storage, a barbecue, patio furniture and terrific views from the French doors or patio.
There are wonderful views all over North Pennines to enjoy. Plenty of walks and cycling from the doorstep. Only 10-15 min walk to post office and art studio.
This is an ideal location if you are travelling on C2C and Pennine Way. The cottage is also close enough to visit Hadrian's Wall, explore the North Pennines AONB and Geopark, Bowlees, Middleton in Teesdale, Barnard Castle and historic Blanchland .
Families are very welcome here. We have two cots (one a travel cot and the other a small standard cot (you will need to bring your babies bedding) and high chairs available, stair gate and room divider, fire guard and children's crockery and cutlery.
We have a huge cupboard full of games and also provide reading material for adults and children. If we know the age of your children in advance we can provide age appropriate toys/games so you don't need to bring so much from home.
We provide a stick blender in case you want to blend food for your baby. Children's activity sheets, story books and nightlights are also provided.
Two well behaved dogs are welcome. We provide lots of extras for your pets too; poop bags, towels, throws for furniture, water bowl, identity disks for your dogs collar and a small snack for you dog on arrival too.
If you require we can also provide crates for your dogs.
