A very short and personal review of Lane Head Apartment nr Wigton. Time of visit august 2011.
If you have your own transport and are looking for a clean, charming and comfortable base to explore the northern lakes and coast, I can thoroughly recommend the Lane Head Apartment at Bolton Low Houses.
There are plenty of pictures on the site, but they don't portray the warm yet unobtrusive welcome. The kitchen has more facilities than i have at home; the welcome pack included coffee, tea, milk etc but also red wine and homemade cake. I have to bake cakes for a living and believe me it was good. There were even fresh flowers in the kitchen.
It was very much comfort with a capital c. After a long drive there, it was an uplifting place to walk into; away from the madding crowd. I would definitely like to go back.
