Spent Sunday wandering along the shores of Morecambe Bay - wonderful

Just spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon wandering along the shores of Morecambe Bay. I started the afternoon at Aldingham, with it's atmospheric church perched above the beach; looking out across the sands. I then walked along the sandy beach towards Newbiggin, passing the remains of the Norman "motte and bailey" castle high up on the sandy cliffs. Flocks of sea birds swooped and settled on the sands - perhaps just arriving to spend their winter in this atmospheric bay.
