visit GREENODD & RUSLAND VALLEY...
The extensive broadleaved woodlands of the Rusland Valley have not always presented the tranquil scene they do today.
Levens and Crake valleys acted as conduits for the transport of goods and materials and at their confluence is Greenodd.
About the area
Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway opened in 1869 played a part in Greenodd's history
In its heyday Stott Park bobbin mill churned out 250,000 bobbins a week for the cotton mills of Lancashire.
Much of this area is clothed in trees, now with new footpaths and trails to enjoy.
Lots happening throughout the year, from falconry to railway journeys.
