Take up the Drive Less, See More Challenge 22nd - 29th July 2012
GoLakes Travel are challenging visitors to Drive Less and See More in the Lake District this summer. During our challenge week we want you to take just one car free day as part of your stay, to see how easy and fun it can be to get around under your own steam.
16 million visitors explore the Lakes each year and most of them use their own car, but going car-free can add to the sense of adventure. Plus every time you do you will discover something new.
To help you take our car free challenge there will be GoLakes Travel information centres popping up throughout the week, offering you help, advice and information on how to get around. There will also be a range of organised events (if you prefer to leave the planning to someone else) and offers and discounts as a thank you for giving it a go.
The week kicks off with the free Go Cycle, Go Walk, Go Lakes festival in Staveley, a great day out for all the family.
