Food & Drink
The Lake District and Cumbria has so much more to offer than scenery. Our locally sourced and produced food and drink are just some of the many things that make this county special. Each area has something to offer you and your appetite. In Whitehaven you can learn about the UK Rum trade. Sample the delights while learning about the history. In Grasmere you can take home some famous, handmade gingerbread which is something everyone should try. Cumbria is also known for its Herdwick Sheep, often spotted grazing in the high fells.
You may have tried the World famous Kendal Mint Cake but have you tried Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding? Tired of your average, run of the mill sausages? Why not try a Cumberland Whirl. With locally brewed ales and food galore, take your taste buds on holiday, go on they deserve it.
