“A very pleasant and relaxing stay”

We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend the nights before and after our wedding day. Although during this stay we did not see much of the area, it is well known to us and The Plough is perfectly situated for the Lakes, The Dales and The Forest of Bowland. The ambience of The Plough at Lupton was perfect for relaxation and the staff, who gave us such a warm welcome, were friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our stay (NB They didn't know we were getting married!). Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and attractive, with all the amenities we needed for smooth preparations for our special day and we spent the morning of our wedding day relaxing with tea and the papers in the cosily arranged guest lounge/bar. The food both evenings was excellent ... a concise but varied menu using fresh, local ingredients, beautifully cooked and well presented. We have to add that breakfast was outstanding and the full English was the best we have ever eaten anywhere ... not to mention beautifully arranged on the plate! We have no hesitation in recommending The Plough and will most definitely be back ourselves.
