    “pleasant location, marred by noise”

£55 per head, me and my pal in his room along corridor. My room was opposite the door and stairs and my first couple of hours in bed til after midnight were ones of heavy creaks to floor outside the room and slamming of the door. Mentioned to staff in morning they said they are aware the floor needs repair - so why was I placed in that room? Or not offered a discount.

I also feel that when a couple down the corridor sharing a double room paid £60 total for B&B, why I had to pay £55 for sole occupancy of a double. The single rooms had been described online as very compact, by reviewers, so I had little choice other than go for double as I am not a midget.

I would stay there again but would be inclined to use what I have learned to negotiate better price/room location.

Food was ok but compared to some of comparable range and quality in the town of Keswick, I would say around 30% overpriced. But it is 5 miles away so the pub is convenient for dining when staying.

Lovely outside area, house martins nesting a delight.
